Career Assessment:
"Discover Your Path, Unlock Your Potential!"
GAD’s career assessment program is two-fold:
Phase 1 uses career assessment tools to help youth identify career paths aligned with their preferences, interests, skills and values. It also guides students in creating an Individual Development Plan (IDP) to achieve their career goals.
Phase 2 involves collaborating with local youth ministries, community leaders, and local and government agencies to provide teens with workplace shadowing opportunities based on their areas of interest. By observing professionals in action, students gain insight into the characteristics, responsibilities, and daily requirements of each role. Shadowing provides a low-risk method for students to determine if they want to pursue a degree program, attend trade school, or enter the workforce directly after high school graduation.
